Since the business was founded in 2016, their goal has been to build real-world cybersecurity expertise grounded in how attackers actually operate. Their platform, Darwin, enables organizations to discover, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across their attack surface while working alongside Evolve's team of analysts.
Evolve Security had built something powerful in Darwin. Their approach to vulnerability management included a patented video escalation framework and a risk-weighting model that accounts for each organization's unique risk tolerance. Ultimately, the platform functioned well, but its interface had been created and maintained entirely by front end developers, with no dedicated design team. It looked the part of a tool from five years ago.
As Evolve prepared to relaunch their marketing website and push toward a new phase of growth, the gap between the product's capabilities and its presentation became somewhat of a liability. Demo screenshots weren't landing the way they should and potential investors and customers weren't seeing what Evolve knew Darwin could be.
Evolve engaged Crema to rapidly modernize their product's design, kicking off with a focused design sprint to identify the highest-impact opportunities and move quickly into a product redesign.

A new era for Continuous Penetration Testing (CPT)

Darwin 3.0 launched in January 2026 and was met with strong enthusiasm from Evolve Security's existing client base. The new experience puts the emphasis where it belongs, on the critical exposures that impact a business. This simplified approach has reduced the volume of findings that just create noise. The Design Sprint gave Evolve the clarity and momentum needed to move fast, ultimately delivering a set of high-impact screens that positioned Darwin competitively for continued growth. Crema continues to work alongside Evolve's team, supporting ongoing iterations as the platform scales.
